Wren Class (Nursery & Reception)

Welcome to Wrens Class.

We are an EYFS unit of both Nursery and Reception children.

Our class teacher is Mrs Tofield who is supported by Teaching Assistants – Mrs Brownrigg and Mrs Ewart.

In our class, we wear plimsolls indoors and keep our school shoes for outside. We also wear our PE kits and trainers on PE days which are Wednesday afternoon and Friday morning.

We use our book bags for taking home any art work and to keep books for reading in. This keeps them in good condition. Back packs are not encouraged for this reason.

We also need a water bottle daily and appropriate clothing for playing outdoors in all weather.

We like to bring things in for Show and Tell but this must be for sharing achievements or for topic opportunities requested by the teacher. Toys should remain at home.

Some children may need a comfort toy at the start of the year, but this is gradually reduced as a child’s confidence increases. We ensure these are kept safe in bags.

We enjoy preparing our own carbohydrate snack which costs 10 pence per day, and this is paid termly to the teacher.

We use tapestry online journal which keeps parents and teachers informed of each child’s learning and achievements. Permission slips must be read carefully and signed prior to setting up an account.

Forest school is available for part of the year on a rota basis where puddle suits and wellies are required.

Any queries can be answered via the office in school hours.
