Our School Council – Giving Pupils a Voice
A school council provides a meaningful way in which pupils can voice their opinions and have their views taken into account in decisions that impact upon them. Article 12 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) -Respect for views of the child. Our School Council provides an opportunity for pupils to develop leadership skills, share ideas, and contribute to decision-making processes that affect their learning environment.
Who are the School Councillors?
Each year, we hold elections where pupils can vote for their class representatives. Pupils from Reception to Year 6 can stand for election, ensuring that every class has a voice on the council. Children who wish to stand present their ideas to their classmates before the vote. The elected councillors take their role seriously, acting as a link between their peers and the school staff.

Get Involved
We encourage all children to get involved with the School Council, whether by standing for election or by sharing their ideas and feedback with their class councillors. We believe that by working together, we can create a happy, inclusive, and thriving school community where every voice is heard.
