Computing
Technology is just a tool. In terms of getting the kids working together and motivating them, the teacher is the most important.
At Burgh by Sands School, we believe in empowering every child to become confident, responsible, and creative users of technology.
Our Computing curriculum follows the Teach Computing scheme, designed to provide a structured and engaging approach to developing digital literacy, computational thinking, and practical IT skills across all year groups. Through this scheme, pupils gain vital experience in areas such as coding, digital safety, and the responsible use of technology.
Every class has access to its own set of laptops, ensuring all pupils have hands-on opportunities to apply what they learn in real-time. From interactive lessons to problem-solving activities, our pupils explore how technology can help them create, communicate, and collaborate effectively. We aim to inspire a lifelong interest in technology and give pupils the foundational skills needed to thrive in a digital world.
By nurturing these skills, we’re preparing our pupils not only to understand and engage with current technology but also to be adaptable, innovative thinkers for the future.
