Early Years Foundation Stage

Play is the highest form of research- Albert Einstein

Our Early Years foundation stage follows a flexible curriculum that is bespoke to our school. We ensure, as experienced practitioners, that children are developing skills based on what they know already. Our intentions are to meet the needs of all children with individual next steps, in order to complete their own personal learning journey in reaching the Early Learning Goals.

We encourage, both challenge and creative thinking in our environment, where a curiosity approach enables children to master new skills independently during their play. All subjects find their place in a child’s exploration from Maths and Science, to Literacy, Geography and the Arts.

We seek to provide a sense of awe and wonder through our curriculum, where learning is rooted in real experiences. Forest School and the wider community enables us to give our children’s learning authentic meaning, with opportunities to extend their interests beyond the classroom.
