Meet our Governors
At Burgh by Sands School, our governing board plays an essential role in shaping the direction of our school and ensuring that it provides the best possible education for all our pupils.
Our governing board meets regularly to help shape the future of the school and challenge and support the headteacher and staff of the school. The governing board have three core functions:
- Ensure clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction.
- Holding leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils, and the performance management of staff.
- Oversee the financial performance of the organisation and making sure its money is well spent.
Our governing board is made up of individuals from a variety of backgrounds, each bringing valuable experience and representing different facets of our community. Some of our Governors are elected by parents, others are appointed by the Local Authority, and some are co-opted by the governing board for their specific skills and expertise.
Below, you will find details of our governing board, including the names, roles, and terms of office of each Governor. Should you need to get in touch with our Governors, please contact our Clerk to the Governors, Mrs. Sue Glendinning, at ccas1@btinternet.com, who will ensure your correspondence is directed to the most appropriate member.
We are committed to maintaining strong governance and look forward to continuing to support the school and its community.
