• Welcome to Our Nursery

Welcome to Our Nursery

At Burgh by Sands Primary School, we offer a combined Nursery and Reception class that provides a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment for your child’s early years.

Children can join our Nursery from the term after they turn 3, enjoying learning experiences both indoors and outdoors, making the most of our beautiful school surroundings.

Our indoor and outdoor spaces are thoughtfully designed with resources that engage children and encourage the development of key skills. As part of the Early Years Foundation Stage, our dedicated team of teachers and teaching assistants work closely together to support your child’s learning and development across all areas of the curriculum.

We warmly welcome visits, so if you’d like to come and have a look around, please get in touch

Who Can Join?

We offer places from the term after your child's 3rd birthday, ensuring your child has the opportunity to start learning and exploring with us as soon as they are ready. Our flexible admissions mean that your child can join us at the start of the spring, summer, or autumn term.

Our Approach

At our Nursery, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, which is designed to support children’s development in all areas of learning, from communication and language to physical and social skills. We believe that children learn best through play, and we offer a rich variety of activities that encourage exploration, creativity, and problem-solving.

Our mixed Nursery and Reception unit allows younger children to benefit from interactions with their older peers, helping them to learn social skills, develop language, and build independence.

Why Choose Us?

  • Nurturing Environment: Our dedicated team is committed to creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere where every child feels safe, valued, and excited to learn.
  • Learning Through Play: We provide a wide range of activities, both indoors and outdoors, designed to engage children's natural curiosity and foster a love of learning.
  • Personal Development: We focus on helping children develop key skills in early literacy, numeracy, and social interactions, preparing them for the next stage of their educational journey.
  • Close-Knit Community: As part of our small and supportive school, your child will be known and cared for by staff, and you’ll be part of a close-knit community.

Flexible Hours and Funding

We offer flexible hours to suit the needs of families, including full and part-time sessions. Funded places are available for eligible families, including the 15 and 30 hours of free childcare.
